anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, tonic, diuretic (leaf), antipruritic(tar oil)

Uses:
inflammatory conditions of the urinary tract (incl. urethritis and cystitis), urinary stones, rheumatic and arthritic conditions (esp. where kidney function needs support),oedematous states, to ease muscle pain (topically)

Catchtail Comments:
In Germany, a birch extract ("birch water") is used as a hair tonic for thinning hair.
Deborah has a beautiful birch bark hair clip purchased in Europe. The craftsmanship is amazing.
